The Great Outdoors
Click the layout for full credit info.
The playground in our complex has wood chips under all of the equipment, and when there are no other kids around Gavin likes to play in them. He especially likes to find and examine twigs and rocks. :)
I love the way this layout turned out. The elements are all digital, but the style is very paper scrapping.

When I saw this kit, I wasn't sure what to do with it at first. So, I started digging though all of the photos on the computer. I looked at ones with my sister when we were little, and then through years of scanned and digital camera pics! Finally, I scrolled all the way down to my wedding folder. This is my favorite pic of us from that day.

Levi's 30th Birthday Cake
Here's a page to show off my husband's 30th birthday cake! Click the pic to get all of credit info.
Levi's birthday was in May, and I loved how his cake turned out. His favorite is white cake with white icing, which is just so boring to me. In February, I came across this blog post. I loved the pictures and how the cake looked when cut.
I was thinking about making rainbow cupcakes for my son's birthday in March, but I got really sick at the beginning of that week. His party was on Thursday, and I just wasn't up to it. So, I ended up just buying cupcakes for his party.
We had the party at Chuck E. Cheese, and that night he came down with croup! I ended up awake for hours in the middle of the night listening to him make that horrible cough, hanging out in the bathroom with the shower steaming up the room and then spending some quality time on my balcony in the cold air.
My parents and my MIL came the next day. And then when the grandparents were visiting there was too much going on so we grabbed an ice cream cake.
Obviously, this rainbow cake had been on my mind a long time! So, when Levi's birthday came around, I asked if he'd like the rainbow cake. He's usually up for anything I suggest and didn't let me down.
Instead of all that diet friendly recipe tweaking that the post up above does, I just made a regular white cake and added gel color to the batter before baking. Here's how they looked before stacking and icing.
And here's how it looked after icing, sprinkling on some candy sprinkles and adding the candles. I was a bit messy with the frosting, but it looks fun, right?
Birthday boy and crazy baby.
After cutting, it looked amazing! Check out those crumbs!
Mmmmmmmmmmm.

I won a Loopy Guest Spot!
So a while ago, I did this layout of Gavin using a free kit called "The Cupcake Love Shop" by Fruit Loop Sally. She was running a contest for a guest spot on the FruitLoOp Team, and anyone who used her free(!) mini-kit could enter! And I won! So, I'll be getting to use her awesome products to create pages from now until the end of August.
I'm a little stressed over this, but I think it will be fun!

Updated my look!
For the header and all of the background papers, I used the kit "Capture the Everyday," designed by Brynn Marie Dukes. Check her out at BZB Designs or in her shop at Elemental Scraps!
The paper curls and stitching are by Gunhild Storeide.
The font used on the header is Elephants In Cherry Trees from Kevin & Amanda's Fonts for Peas. I figured out how to design my own blog graphics by using Amanda's tutorial, too!
So... hey?
So, to start, I've changed my title from Pamelama to Monkey Eats Cardboard. Monkey is my son, Gavin's, nickname, and, well, he eats cardboard. Books, boxes... you name it and I've probably had to dig it out of his mouth. He's about 15 1/2 months old now. For his sanity and mine, I try to take him out a lot. So, hopefully, I'll be documenting our adventures.
