My first freebie template!

My husband finally got my Photoshop working, so I made my first template! If you'd like to grab the template I used for my "I love this face" layout click here.

I really like the style over at Three Paper Peonies. A few days ago, I grabbed the ADORE paper collection and had to get to work on a layout right away. The challenge attached to these papers is to do a layout featuring a loved one. These are pics of Gavin in the bath on 11/10/2009. Who wouldn't fall in love with that face? :)

My Photoshop is acting wonky right now, but if I can get it working long enough, I'm going to turn this layout into a template.

Yeah...

Trying to blog through my phone sucked, and then I was wavering on going back and making up posts. And then, well, I just ignored it until it went away. I'll try again when I'm not going to be away from my computer for several (exhausting) days.

ZOMG!

We're traveling this weekend, and our flight leaves at 6:10am tomorrow. Which means that we have to leave the house, at the latest, at 5am. It's 8:15pm now, and we've just started to pack. And there is still laundry being done. And Gavin isn't in bed, yet.

I don't think that I'm going to get any sleep tonight.

Dear Self, please work out your procrastination/possible ADD issues. You're stressing me out.

November Desktop

So, whenever I open Photoshop, it crashes within a few minutes. Not cool for a digi-scrapper/photo editor! Luckily, I could upload to Flickr and use Picnik to make this month's wallpaper.

This photo was taken at a playground today. Gavin was riding the teeter-totter with one of his buddies.

Super Excited

So, once you have a kid, the things you get excited over change direction a bit. Things you would have thought totally lame before are suddenly fun. For example:

Matching family pajamas.

I bought these last year from Gymboree for an outrageous amount of money. I thought that we would never wear them again, but I was just looking at the Gymbo website and they have the same style again this year! Last year, Gavin had the two piece set, but I think we need the footies this time.

My sister is going to be with us for Christmas this year. So, do I buy her a pair, too? :)

Post-Bath Smiles

It's hard to get a picture of us together looking at the camera, so it was a surprise that I got this one!

My husband, Levi, is traveling for work, so his normal bath-time duties fell to me tonight. While it isn't a terribly difficult mom-duty, it's not one that I really (usually) enjoy. Honestly, I skip it a night or two when Levi's out of town and Gavin hasn't done anything too messy.

When Levi's home, this is my quiet time to read a bit, watch a few minutes of non-baby friendly tv, and just veg out. Gavin's been having an off and on fear of the shower, too, so you never know if it's going to be a total tear fest, or if he's going to want to stay in until he's a prune.

Tonight was a good night, though. We checked out, lined up, and tossed around all of his rubber ducks. And there was a whole lot of coloring on the tub and shower walls. :)

Dancing

I was playing music on my computer and a Cheap Trick's "How Are You?" came on. Gavin started spinning and dancing. I swear there was only juice and water in that sippy bottle!

National Blog Posting Month

So, I decided to sign up for National Blog Posting Month. This should be interesting since I never seem to find the time or, let's be honest, the focus to sit down and write. Committing to 30 days in a row will be a challenge. We're traveling this weekend, too, so that will throw a whole 'nother wrench into things! Hopefully, I'll be able to figure out how to blog through my phone because I don't know if my husband is planning to bring his laptop, or how good the internet access at the hotel will be.

I'm crazy, I think.

Here's my Round 4 entry for the GDS CT contest. I love Gavin's smile in this pic. He was being so silly. Bouncing around on my bed and then flopping down to look up at me like he was king of the world. The addition of my froggy socks cracks me up. :)

I didn't win a spot on the creative team, but I had fun doing the layouts every week!

This was my Round 3 entry for the GDS CT contest. This was a fun, but bittersweet, page to do. I haven't had a chance to go to one of my girlfriend "conventions" since 2006. That one was in Las Vegas and I had a blast. :)

I'm a bit out of order. This was for Round 1 of the GDS CT contest. I didn't really know what to do with such a girly kit. I think the page is pretty, but I don't really like it. I was really surprised when I moved on to round two!

My mother visited over Labor Day weekend. Here she is reading "The Little Engine That Could" with Gavin. Are his bare feet killing you? He doesn't wear shoes inside, and hates having socks on. So, he pulls them off as soon as he gets a chance.

I did this one a while ago. It was the last of my Fruit Loop Sally guest spot layouts. I'm not entirely happy with it, but I think the clustering is good. I need to do more with Gavin's birthday party pics. There are so many good ones. :)

Petis Pois

I just had to pop on and link to this adorable free (for now) kit, Petit Pois. My son is rotating through a cycle of loving eating or just playing with peas. He always asks for them, but I never know which type of meal it's going to turn into.
